The Ohio Board of Regents, a nine-member advisory board to the chancellor with two ex-officio representatives from the state legislature, was created in 1963 by the general assembly. Members of the Board of Regents are appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate.
Responsibilities of the board include, developing an independent annual report on the Condition of Higher Education in the Ohio, and issuing an annual performance review of the chancellor. The board is also responsible for advising the chancellor on issues of statewide importance affecting higher education.

The School Employees Retirement System of Ohio. SERS is a defined benefit public pension fund that provides pensions and access to health care coverage for the people who served our schools. Our members are bus drivers, custodians, administrators, administrative assistants, food service providers, and educational aides – anyone who works for a school or school system in a nonteaching position.
The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (A۰P۰L۰U) is a voluntary, non-profit association of public research universities, land-grant institutions, and many state university systems and has member campuses in all 50 states and the U.S. territories. The association is governed by a Chair and Board of Directors elected from the member universities and university systems. Its president is Peter McPherson, who directs a staff of about 35 at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) is one of four statutorily-created interstate compacts created for the purpose of advancing higher education through cooperation and resource sharing. MHEC was established in 1991 and serves Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

IUC-Purchasing Group The Inter-University Council Purchasing Group of Ohio (IUCPG), is a purchasing consortium comprised of the purchasing officers of Ohio's public institutions of higher education. The organization has 38 members made up of the 14 state universities, 14 community colleges and 9 technical colleges & institutes.
The IUCPG operates under the requirements of the current appropriation legislation, The Ohio Revised Code, and the By-Laws of each institution's Board of Trustees.
